Ethical Sourcing & Sustainable Development
The Hammam Care Approach
Traditional beauty with respect at its source
Hammam Care sources directly from women’s cooperatives and pays fair prices for their work and products. This approach helps more of the value created from local resources remain within the communities that protect and depend on them.

Indigenous women benefit through the cooperative network that supplies Hammam Care
Direct sourcing, clearly explained
A stronger cooperative economy for Indigenous women
Hammam Care’s role is specific: the brand purchases directly and responsibly from women’s cooperatives at fair prices. Hammam Care does not operate or directly finance the cooperatives’ social and environmental programs.
Fair and consistent trade helps create economic conditions in which cooperatives can grow, support their members and invest in their communities. It can strengthen Indigenous women’s financial independence, help families plan for the future and create better opportunities for the next generation.
Sustainable development begins when local knowledge, natural resources and economic opportunity are valued together.
Knowledge creates opportunity
Women’s Literacy
The cooperative network provides literacy training that helps women develop essential reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
These skills make important information about health, finances and professional life more accessible. Literacy can strengthen confidence, expand economic opportunities and support greater participation in community life.
The benefits can continue across generations, helping women make informed decisions and support their children’s learning and wellbeing.
Supporting two generations
Children’s Education and Future Generations
Preschools established within cooperative units provide young children with a structured early-learning environment while their mothers work.
The services support children’s cognitive, social and emotional development. At the same time, mothers can participate more fully in the cooperative’s economic and social activities.
Supporting women and children together strengthens community life and creates foundations for long-term sustainable development.
Environment, livelihood and continuity
Reforestation and Protection of the Argan Grove
The argan tree plays an important environmental, social and economic role in the regions where it grows.
The cooperative network participates in reforestation work that includes identifying suitable land, selecting quality seedlings, developing appropriate irrigation and monitoring the trees over time. Cooperative members work with specialists to encourage sustainable practices and improve the long-term success of the plantations.
Protecting the argan grove helps preserve the local environment while maintaining an important source of livelihood for women and their communities.
Community wellbeing
Health and Community Initiatives
Development funds managed by the cooperative network and its partners support social, cultural and health initiatives for cooperative members and their communities.
According to the cooperative, these have included medical services, health-awareness and prevention programs, medicines, medical caravans and measures to improve sanitary conditions. Other actions have included educational supplies, family assistance, food baskets and support responding to local needs.
A more responsible way to source
Every purchase is a choice. What does yours help sustain?
Choosing Hammam Care helps sustain a direct and fair trading relationship with a cooperative network that benefits more than 500 Indigenous women. It helps keep more economic value closer to the people, skills and landscapes behind every ingredient.
Where the value stays matters
A purchase can do more than bring home a product. It can help sustain fair work, local knowledge and the responsible use of resources by the communities they belong to.
When Indigenous women can build dependable livelihoods by using and protecting their own local resources, families are better able to remain rooted in their communities. This helps prevent economic displacement and reduces the pressures that can lead to forced migration when resources and income are taken out of local hands.
How the connection works: A purchase is not a direct donation, and Hammam Care does not allocate a fixed amount from each order to individual programs. The impact begins with how the products are sourced—directly, responsibly and at fair prices.
